Fraud proceedings in connection with cybertrading platforms

The firm has particular experience in fraud proceedings related to cybertrading platforms for trading binary options (CFDs), forex, cryptocurrencies or other investments. In recent years, the so-called Central Cybercrime Offices (Zentralstellen Cybercrime) established at German Attorney General’s Offices have been investigating operators, employees and other participants of cybertrading platforms more intensively due to allegations of fraud and the formation of criminal associations.

Lawyers from the firm have already defended clients in numerous such investigative proceedings, for example at the Central Office for Cybercrime in Bavaria (ZCB) of the Bamberg Public Prosecutor’s Office. The representation covers the entire criminal proceedings from the preliminary investigation including the support in the context of a pre-trial detention up to the main trial, criminal appeal and execution of sentence. We also advise those affected in connection with asset protection and confiscation measures by the criminal prosecution authorities (asset detention and confiscation).

Finally, the firm has many years of experience with the questions of international legal assistance (extradition and other legal assistance) that regularly arise in such proceedings. In this respect, we have established cooperation with experienced defense attorneys of frequently involved jurisdictions.
